- You begin to trust them when you start seeing that people around you follow what is being said in the media- Leo. How strong is a peer group... and what if you pay one person in the peer group to influence the rest of the peer group... how much "free thought" does a group have? That quote is a perfect example on how media effects us so much in our everyday lives. Just because a group of people and wearing a certain logo or has purchased a certain item, everybody else has to do so just because its in style and they just want to fit in. Im not saying that they HAVE to get those things that are on ads, billboards, t.v comercials, magazines... but because they feel so inteminated that if they dont get or have those things that noone will like them and that they just wont fit in. Its very true though because many people in todays society will just be friends with you because you have money or you have ceratin things that they want. They forget about personalities. Also you begin to belive every word that these advertisment tell you, so it can be the stupidest thing posible and you'll buy it anyway just to say or show off that you have it.
- We have looked at how we make decisions, Do we truly make our decisions?Yes and no. We make our decisions based on what we hear and what people say and what we see. No body can make a decision for you but youself. Some peopl stick with what they know and just go for it and take risks but some other people just listend to what they hear and see and just make a decision based on that. I can be a good decision but then again it can be a bad on.
- How can trust (or how is) trust gained between a product and the people who (might) buy it? How do you get Brand Loyalty? The advertiseres try there best to make the product as real as possible and aswell make it look as valuable as possible. For any certain product there will be a certain tagged audience that will want or buy the product. For example women who would want shampoo to make there hair soft and health. Also if the adveriment company is known for selling cheap stuff obviously noone is going to buy it.
- ...most news we pay attention to is American. We hear their perspective on things. What they believe is going on in Iraq. But once we hear how the Iraqi people look at things we then soon see ourselves thinking outside the box. - Marianna. Talk about this idea of perspective; Who has the power? Do they have the power if they have the media? Theres two sides of everything, everystory. Thats all i have to say because if they did have the power they would make everyone feel bad for them and say that they did nothing wrong and that they need help, but then again the american can say the total opposite of the iraqi people.
- Reacting to something Sally said- when is there too much "Media"? Is there ever too much? Are there some things that are NOT media worthy? There cant be too much media because it surrounds us in our lives everywhere.

These are great answers- I'd like you to take one of them and let your mind go on it. Write something like a page doubled spaced where you look at all aspects of the idea, and "stretch" the idea as far as it will let you.
ReplyDeleteCould you get that to me on Tuesday next?
